Karnataka Former MP Ramya Offers Rs 25,000 Reward For PM Modi’s Photos With Flood Victims

Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not visiting the flood affected areas personally in Assam, Bihar, and Gujarat, former Congress MP Ramya has announced an offer for all Modi bhakts. Ramya aka Divya Spandana has offered to give Rs 25,000 if anyone shares the photo of prime minister Narendra Modi visiting the flood-affected areas.

Her posts on twitter and Facebook have already gone viral but are also being slammed by the Modi followers. She had tweeted that she couldn’t find even a single picture of Modi with the victims of flood in Bihar, Assam or Gujarat.

On Wednesday, Ramya took to Twitter to write: “Can’t find a single image of Prime Minister Modi with flood affected victims in Assam, Gujarat or Bihar. Too scared to get lynched you think? [sic]”

The jab at Modi was meant to gather the mob killings by gaurakshaks across the country, something the prime minister has already condemned. Ramya then offered money to anyone who could get her one such photo.

She wrote: “Ok guys, I’ll give you 25,000 rupees if you find me a picture of Modi with flood affected victims in Assam, Gujarat or Bihar. No photoshop [sic].”

While her criticism against prime minister’s aerial review of the flooded areas is welcome, one wonders she could have come up with a better initiative to take on the Opposition BJP. Soon after Ramya criticized PM Modi, an objection from the Twitterati started flooding in.

Twitter Reactions:

People started slamming Ramya for, her very offer of awarding money – Rs 25,000 – just to criticize the Modi government does not augur well, it is similar to bribing. Instead, she could have raised the bar by announcing to award that Rs 25,000 to flood victims in Assam and Bihar.

A user named Naveen Sagar posted a collage of images from a photoshoot of hers along with the comment: “Ramya with flood affected victim. She was reportedly paid a prize money of 6 lakh for this. No photoshop. Real pic [sic].” See the tweet here:

While Ramya did not respond to the tweet directly, she posted a video on Tuesday evening purportedly showing a person who trolled her now issuing an apology.

This is hardly the first time Ramya has landed in the eye of a storm. She was also booked for sedition last year for saying Pakistan was not “hell” after visiting the country and praising the people’s hospitality there.
