Shobhaa De has been in news more time for shaming others than for her actual literary work. Yes, she has been walking on the path of degrading someone in order to gain popularity.
Be it her Rio Olympics statement or her jab at Sushma Swaraj or the time she skinny shamed Kate Middleton and Sonam Kapoor, are the perfect example of her picking up on mindless subjects in order to constantly be on social media headlines.
Recently, the lady fat-shamed a policeman on Twitter which didn’t go well with people, and now Mumbai Police and the police who is in the picture gave a befitting reply to Ms De’s “funny” post.
In case you haven’t seen, here’s her tweet:
Heavy police bandobast in Mumbai today! pic.twitter.com/sY0H3xzXl3

Mumbai Police gave a befitting reply by saying…
We love puns too Ms De but this one is totally imisplaced. Uniform/official not ours. We expect better from responsible citizens like you. https://t.co/OcKOoHO5bX

But just when we thought Mumbai Police’s response to shut her, was the best response there could have been, the cop who was fat shamed by De (hailing from Madhya Pradesh Police), has now come out and condemned her too.
Speaking to Hindustan Times, the Madhya Pradesh police named Daultram Jogawat, the one who became a target of Shobhaa’s troll, hit back at her. In reality, he is overweight not due to eating but due to an illness.
He said:
“It (his weight) is due to my illness that I am so fat, and not due to overeating. I had gall bladder operation in 1993 and I developed insulin imbalance which resulted in my obesity.”
He then went ahead and mocked Shobhaa De by saying
“If madam wants, she can pay for my treatment.
Who doesn’t want to be thin?”
Supporting Daulatram, even SP of Neemuch, Manoj Singh stated,
“Though Jogawat is obese, he is dedicated towards his duty and his investigations have often won praise from the court. He also performed creditably during the rigorous Simhasta in Ujjain for a month.”
After being mocked by Mumbai Police and Inspector Daulatram Jogawat, Shobhaa De had no option but to apologize; check out her tweet…

Well, it is really sad that Shobhaa De insulted someone who is suffering from such an illness; she should have thought twice before speaking such words.
