The spokesman if Dalai Lama said that his holiness is “doing very well” and is expected to be discharged from the hospital on Friday.
Dalai Lama is recovering from a chest infection at a hospital in New Delhi.
Dalai Lama, who is now 83-years-old, was admitted to the Max Hospital in New Delhi on Tuesday with a light cough that came out to be a chest infection.
Tenzin Taklha, the personal spokesman of the Dalai Lama said, “Generally, his holiness is fine. He is doing very well. Still on medication but he is doing very well and will be discharged. Right now, we are trying to discharge him tomorrow.”
Tenzin added, “He is doing fine. In fact this morning he was in his normal routine. He was doing some exercise… Basically, he is cured but will continue his course of medicine.”
The Dalai Lama is a popular speaker, but since 2016, the Tibetan Spiritual Leader has not met with any world leader, and leaders of countries have been wary of sending out invitations to the Dalai Lama with having the fear of making Beijing angry.
The Dalai Lama has sought to block any effort made by Beijing, which has wiped out every single ordered opposition to its rule in Tibet, to name his reincarnated successor and even announced that he could be the last Dalai Lama.
