Delhi Assembly Elections 2015 Live Poll Updates: Delhi Assembly elections have begun. After a prolonged and struggling battle between the political parties such as Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Aam Admi Party (AAP), and Congress are the leading parties which have been contesting this session. Around 673 candidates are going to test their fate who very strongly acclaim that they wish to serve the people of Delhi. Delhi goes to the poll today where over 1.33 crore electorate will decide the future of 673 candidates in Delhi as polling is underway in the national capital.

Delhi Election Voting Updates and Live Streaming

Delhi elections have begun at 8 AM on today i.e., Saturday for the 70-member assembly and will continue till 6 PM in the evening.  Till now about 15.64% voting had been recorded till 11 AM in the morning. It is a good note to see that people from various sections stepped out of their houses, offices, schools, colleges and many other public places to vote. They electorates have been standing in lines since early morning which speculates that this term there may be a record breaking voting by the electorates as people in long queues are being seen at various polling booths as they await their turn to cast votes. Official reports of the election commission state that there are 12,177 polling stations have been set up across the city and security has been beefed up.

Out of 12,177 polling stations around 714 polling stations have been declared as critical and 191 as highly critical which have huge security arrangements and alternatives. Election commison has taken care and has come up with a model polling booth in an each assembly constituency where facilities like drinking water and chairs will be provided to voters.  To maintain law and order and to avoid any unfortunate incidents Election commission has deployed around 55 thousand police personnel have been for hassle-free voting. Security forces and police personnel are also patrolling different parts of the city to check any incident of distribution of liquor, money and other allurements by political parties.

As of now Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) or the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are the lead front runners. Though, the exit polls have been in favor BJP till date while there are equal chances of AAP in getting a majority. Deciosn is in the hands of Delhi voters. BJP Chief Minister aspirant and election campaigning chief said after casting her vote in Uday Park in South Delhi that “Delhi is going to vote for development. I appeal voters to come out and vote. People of Delhi have to decide if they want a clean, secure Delhi. ” Political parties are desperate for a clear verdict, pleading with voters with slogans like ‘Poorn Bahumat (absolute majority)’, ‘Sthir Sarkar (stable governmnet)’, ‘Chalo chale Modi ke sath (Let’s go with Modi)’ and Paanch Sal Kejriwal (Five years for Kejriwal)’.

Narendra Modi Prime Minister of India has appealed and called on the citizens of the national capital to step out of their homes and vote in large numbers. Mr.Modi tweeted in social micro blogging site twitter as “As Delhi votes today, urging voters to go out & vote in large numbers. I particularly call upon my young friends to vote in record numbers. Today is a historic day for Delhiites. It’s the day for them to decide what type of Delhi they want,” Let’s hope it will be a clear mandate this time around despite repeating the past scenario of hung ballot results.
