Drunken Wedding Reception: Best Man At His Brother’s Wedding Punched Bride And Dragged Her Downstairs

A bride was punched, grabbed, and dragged down a flight of stairs by her dress on her wedding day by her new brother in law who was also the best man.

29-year-old Tomos Rhydian Wilson from Swansea went on a drunken rampage at his brother’s reception at Lampeter’s Falcondale Hotel, Ceredigion, Wales, on July 27, 2019.

During his drunken rampage, Tomos also said that his sibling should never have married the bride.

Wilson reportedly threw punches at Erin Mason-George, the bride, grabbed her by her wedding dress, and assaulted her 2 sisters and her mother.

Gwyn Jones, the District Judge of the Aberystwyth court, found Wilson guilty of 5 charges of assault as well as 2 charges of criminal damage.

Judge Jones subjected Wilson to a community order for 12 months and asked him to carry out 240 hours of unpaid work.

The court also ordered Wilson to pay £250 in compensation to Erin and Cally Mason-George as wells as £100 each to the family of the bride.

On July 27, 2019, Wilson reacted angrily when the family tried to get his brother Steffan Wilson to go to bed as he was drunk, said Prosecutor Kevin Challinor.

While the family was trying to help Steffan up the stairs, Wilson started to abuse the family of the bride.

Things escalated quickly when Wilson started to throw punches at the bride.

After some time, Wilson grabbed his sister-in-law’s wedding dress, pulled it, and dragged her down a flight of stairs by her dress.

The prosecutor said that Wilson assaulted Linda, the mother of the bride, Dion, the bride’s sister, and Cally, the other sister of the bride.

The drunken best man also assaulted the manager of the hotel.

Wilson reportedly damaged the hotel manager’s shirt and fixtures and fittings at the hotel.

Judge Gwyn said the thoughts and bad memories of what “should have been a happy event” will remain with the family for a certain amount of time.

When it comes to the side of Wilson, he is pinning the blame on Erin, the bride.

Wilson said she had slapped and sworn at Steffan and shoved him.

Harry Wilson, the second-best man, told the court that he saw Erin slapping Steffan, which caused him to fall down the stairs.
