At least 4 people have been killed after a UK-registered DA42 plane crashed 3 miles south of the Dubai International Airport.
Officials said that three British people and one South African were aboard the UK-registered DA42 plane, all of them were killed in the plane crash.
The 4 seater aircraft was owned by the Flight Calibration Services, which hails in Shoreham Airport, in West Sussex.
The Flight Calibration Services is a company that inspects and calibrates navigation aids, which includes landing systems and radars for airfields and airports.
The GCAA (General Civil Aviation Authority) said that an investigation has been launched.
According to a local news agency, the aircraft crashed by 19:30 local time, the pilot, the co-pilot, and two of its passengers were killed in the crash.
All flights were delayed and were diverted for nearly 45 minutes.
The Foreign Office released a statement, they said, “We are working closely with the Emirati authorities following reports of a small aircraft crash in Dubai.”
Honeywell, a US Engineering and Aerospace Company, said that they hired Flight Calibration Services and the DA42 plane for a work in Dubai.
In a statement that was released by the Aerospace company, they said, “We are deeply saddened by today’s plane crash in Dubai, and our heartfelt condolences are with the victims’ families.”
