Duronto Express Derailed In Karnataka Near Gulbarga ; 2 Dead

The Duronto Express has been derailed today morning i.e; 12th September 2015 around 2.30 AM near Gulbarga in Karnataka. According to the reports, the train was going from Hyderabad to Pune. In this incident, two women were killed and 8 were injured. The women were identified as Jyothi Shankar (46), and Pushpalatha Harish (26), from Secunderabad. The eight victims who were injured are identified as Manik Reddy (62), Yadamma Manik Reddy (55), Srikant Kashinath (24), Ramakrishna Subba Reddy (40), Rajeev Ramachandra (30), Abdul Ashraf Gaffar (21), Lakshmi (50), Bhaskar B Narasing (45). Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu said the ministry has ordered an inquiry into the incident. The inquiry will be conducted by Commissioner Railway Safety (Central circle) to ascertain the exact cause of the derailment.

Railway PRO Anil Saxena on Saturday said that rescue operation is in full swing and best possible relief will be provided to the victims of the train derailment that occurred this morning in Karnataka. “We are setting up helpline numbers all along the route of the station which will flash through our zonal offices. All effort is to ensure best possible relief and rescue operation.” He also said that “A medical train is on its way to accident site from Solapur. Our senior officers are also on their way to the site. The Additional Divisional Manager has already reached the site and rescue operation is in full swing.”
