An earthquake of 6.8 magnitude struck central Myanmar today, with tremors being strongly felt in Patna, Guwahati, and Kolkata. All the office and schools in Kolkata were evacuated, people said the tremors lasted at least 10 seconds.
Not only Kolkata tremors felt in the northeast, West Bengal, Bihar. Panicked people were seen rushing out of their buildings.

According to European Mediterranean Seismological Centre,earthquake tremors of magnitude 7 felt 190 km SW of Mandalay(Myanmar),at 91km depth
