The fashion of making a biopic has only got popularized in the times of yore few years, it’s the age of biopics in Bollywood & Tollywood currently. After the huge success of Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni’s biopic, now it’s time to see one more biopic on the life of sports person (cricketer). Yes, the reports are to be believed that Ekta Kapoor’s Alt Balaji is setting up a biopic on former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly. According to a report of some social media, the film will be based on the book ‘A Century is not Enough’, which is co-authored by Ganguly.
Sourav Chandidas Ganguly affectionately known as is a former Indian cricketer and captain of the Indian national team, Currently, he is appointed as the President of the Cricket Association of Bengal and President of the Editorial Board with Wisden India. During his playing career, Ganguly established himself as one of the world’s leading batsmen and also one of the greatest captains of the national cricket team. While batting, he was especially prolific through the off side, earning himself the nickname God of the Off Side for his elegant strokeplay square of the wicket and through the covers.
Sourav Ganguly is one of the four members of the Indian Premier League’s Governing Council, responsible for all the functions of the tournament. He was appointed by Supreme Court in January 2016. He is also a member of Technical Committee, Indian Premier League. The book ‘A Century is not Enough’ covers the voyage of the cricketer from Kolkata’s Biren Roy Road to the upper circle at Lord’s, and the popular Indian Premier League (IPL). Talking about the development, the cricketer said, “I have had a few discussions with Balaji, though nothing is final yet. I’ll have more details once we take this forward.”
