Generally, people in India have a habit of eating ‘Paan’ after a meal. This is one of the habits followed by Indians from ancient times.
The patriarch of ancient Indian medicine, paan keeps mouth clean strengthens the voice, tongue and teeth and guards against diseases. It is also said to aid in digestion and purify the blood.
But, have you ever heard of an elephant having a liking for ‘desi paan’? We all know that elephant is big in size and it eats a lot of food. Just imagine how big the paan could be.
Well, an elephant in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar has a bizarre habit of eating paan after having a meal. The elephant is called ‘madi’. The elephant pays a visit at its favorite beetle shop on a daily basis to eat its favorite ‘paan’.
According to the elephant’s mahout, the jumbo has been eating paan from last 13 to 14 years and is very fond of the taste. The elephant travels to its favorite paan shop on a regular basis and likes to have the specially prepared paan.
For your surprise, the paan shop owner daily prepares a special paan for the elephant. After eating paan, the elephant will bless the owner of the pan shop.
