Engineer Killed & 2 Pilots Injured In Badrinath Chopper Crash

A helicopter carrying pilgrims met with an accident where a crew member was killed and two pilots suffered from injuries while taking off from the Himalayan shrine of Badrinath in Uttarakhand. The incident took place on June 10th Saturday in the Himalayan region.

An Engineer who was a part of the crew died in the accident while other two pilots suffered from severe injuries said an official at the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Delhi.  This is a very sad incident for the families and it’s a great loss for them. However, all the five passengers traveling in the helicopter were safe.

The police officer who is investigating the case said the helicopter got imbalanced while taking off due to insufficient air pressure and fell down. He also said that the accident took place around 07:45 hrs. The police officer also says Sanjay Wasi, complained of his backache, while co-pilot Alka Shukla, suffered a minor injury who is a resident of Kanpur.

The helicopter which is on its way from Badrinath to Haridwar is met with the accident. All the pilgrims were from Gujarat and they left for the respective destination said the police officer. The police officer said that the engineer was identified as 35-year-old Vikram Lamba from Pune.

“Saddened by the news of the death of an engineer of a Mumbai based chopper company in SriBadrinath ji; pilot, co-pilot & all passengers are safe. My condolences to the family of the engineer – May God give them strength to bear this extremely unfortunate loss,” he tweeted.
