Even Bill Gates Lauds Pm Modi’s Demonetisation Move, Says It Will Kill Shadow Economy

PM Narendra Modi’s sudden currency ban left the citizens of India shocked and created a lot of chaos among the people. It has been mainly directed to eradicate corruption and larger good of removal black money income from the country.

But, the Modi’s demonetization in the country has evoked a mixed reaction from different quarters with some opposite political parties largely criticizing the move for it ill-planning. And also, though some people are facing a lot of problems in exchanging the notes, they are happy for Narendra Modi’s decision.

Speaking of the celebs who praised demonetization, Hrithik Roshan, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Salman Khan, Virat Kohli and Sehwag are to name a few and now a recent addition has been made in this list.

And now, Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation decision, Microsoft founder Bill Gates said that it is a bold move by the government. According to Gates replacing old currency with new notes with high-security features was an important step to move away from the shadow economy to a more transparent economy.

Gates said digital transactions would rise dramatically, and, in the next several years, India would become one of the most digitized economies not just by size, but percentage as well.

Also, the philanthropist urged the government to invest in the infrastructure, develop markets, handle labor issues as well as land problems properly and simplify tax procedures in order to expand its internal market.

As per the technology king, there is a need of a pioneering ecosystem in India for building future products as well as tackling problems Indians face while competing with the counterparts of other nations.

Lauding the government’s Aadhaar, Startup In dia, and Swachh Bharat initiatives, Gates said that India was trying to do what had never been done before.

Not only this, he goes on to say that the nation is in the hands of a govt. which is committed for solving big issues. He also draws attention to MyGov and Digital India, saying that there’s a lot of scope for improvement in making public services more efficient which will further improve planning, grievance redressal and monitoring of performances.
