After the ban of 500 and 1000 currency notes, there is a news going viral about New 2000 note. The new Rs 500 and Rs 2000 currency notes that will start circulating starting Friday are being termed as ‘high security’ notes.
The government officials clarified that the notes have several new features that will make them harder to fake. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said that it will closely monitor the freshly issued notes. But, here is the true face on another side of the story. There are reports of a fake Rs 2,000 note appearing in a market in Chikmagalur, Karnataka.
A local publication, Vijay Karnataka, reported that the note was found in APMC market. The publication added that the color of the note in question was precise and therefore misleading. The note seemed to have been trimmed using scissors.

Superintendent of Police K. Annamalai told The Hindu, “It was a photocopy of the original note. It is poorly photocopied, anybody can notice it easily. The person was given the copy by an unknown person in APMC market”

According to the government, the currency was so secure that even the experienced and high-tech counterfeit printing presses in Pakistan could not fake it.
