Haryana’s sensation ‘Gurmeet Ram Rahim’ arrest has alarmed the whole North-Indian states from a couple of days, the crowd unleashed a spree of violence soon after the Panchkula’s court verdict went against this self-claimed godman-baba. With Internet connections and railway facilities aborted, the whole states were in chaos.
However, with the inclusion of more than 48 groups of CRPF soldiers, the situation is now somehow under control. Ram Rahim Singh was sentenced to 20 years in prison in connection with two rape cases. Following the conviction by a CBI court in Panchkula, large-scale violence broke out leaving 35 people dead.
But, something shocking happened today. A large number of security forces and district authorities on Friday began a massive sanitization exercise in Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s Dera Sacha Sauda Headquarters in Sirsa, Haryana. It has been learned that 41 Paramilitary companies, 4 Army columns, Police of 4 districts, one SWAT team, one dog squad and bomb squad deployed for the search operation.
As the security forces stormed into the extensive base of jailed Dera chief Gurmeet Singh’s headquarters, many startling revelations were made apart from the seizure of illegal items and Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s “plastic currency”.
The authorities have sanitized more than 100 namcharcha ghars or convention halls, associated with the Dera and seized cash, computers and hard disks. A luxurious black car without a number plate and an OB van were also found inside the Dera. Retired District and Sessions Judge, AKS Panwar is inspecting the search operation as the court commissioner.
According to reports, when authorities entered the Dera premises, around 700 to 800 people, including children were inside. The police have sealed entry and exit routes of the 700-acre campus of Dera Sacha Sauda. Some endangered animals and a huge amount of medicines without labels have been found during the search operation.
Security forces have also sealed two rooms in the Dera. Ram Rahim, the “Guru of Bling”, is known for his luxurious lifestyle and “rock star god man” image.
Security has also been deployed at Satnam Chowk, the main entrance to the sect headquarters. District officials said that the “mystery” over the “dirty secrets” of the Dera and its now jailed chief, who has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment by a CBI special court on two counts of rape of his female disciples, could be revealed in the search operation.
A curfew has been imposed in areas surrounding the Sirsa headquarters and there will be no relaxation until the search operations continue. “The Dera premises is a huge area and it will take time to complete the entire process,” Haryana police chief BS Sandhu was quoted.

The Dera headquarters is spread over two campuses, 600 acres and over 100 acres, about 8 km from Sirsa and 260 km from Chandigarh. The mini-town like premises houses a stadium, a hospital, educational institutions, luxury resort, bungalows, and markets. The campus, where the sect chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh lived, known as the “gufa” (cave), is itself spread in an area of nearly 100 acres.
On September 5, the Punjab and Haryana High Court gave orders to conduct a search operation at the headquarters of Dera Sacha Sauda, under the supervision of a judicial officer. This order came after the Haryana Police seized a cache of 33 licensed weapons of the Dera Sacha Sauda. These weapons include 14 revolvers, nine guns, four rifles and other modified weapons.
