The hullabaloo around Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s wedding doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon. Ever since the rumors of the couple getting to tie a knot started, fans were in a frenzy. From waiting for their first photo after the wedding to taking a dig at Danielle Wyatt, who had once ‘proposed’ Kohli, Twitterati just can’t stop with the jokes.
The wedding was something that every fan expected to happen but the manner in which it took place, it shocked many. However, in the end, it was a very pleasant surprise for everyone. The marriage took place in a very secret manner, in the presence of family and friends in Tuscany, Italy.
We all have seen way too much of Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma this past week, but we can’t help it. Every new picture of them is breaking the internet and is getting people talking, and their first honeymoon picture wasn’t any different. Twitterati even made fun of the picture and made memes and jokes.
While all this was going on a positive note, it is BJP MLA Pannalan Sakya’s comments on Kohli’s way of choosing marriage place that irked people. This politician passed some controversial comments on the recently wed couple. At a rally, he said,
“Virat Kohli cannot be the idol of youths in the country since he had chosen Italy as his marriage destination. He earned money and fame in India but preferred Italy over his country to hold his wedding ceremony. Can’t he (Virat) find a place in India to get married? He can’t be the idol of youths in India.”
He added, “In this country, Ram, Krishna, Vikramaditya, and Yudhisthira got married. And you people might have also married in this country or would get married. But no one among us goes abroad like he has gone. He earned his money and fame in India and took all of it abroad.”
Many people were irked by the statements made by the politician, amidst all this, it was filmmaker Shoojit Sircar’s tweet that was Savage AF. He tweeted, “Next time @imVkohli hits his unpatriotic 1st sixer out of the park it will be in the name of that patriotic MLA.” His tweet was also retweeted by Anurag Kashyap.

Following Sircar’s tweet, Delhi Captain Gautam Gambhir has hit out at politicians, who had targeted newlyweds Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma for marrying abroad. He said that nobody, let alone politicians have the right to comment on anyone else’s personal matters.
“It is completely their personal matter and choice and nobody should comment on this. Politicians should be more careful while making such comments,” Gambhir was quoted saying.
Well, that is a candid answer and we hope that this common sense prevails just because it must. Share your opinions in the comments section below.
