Google One To Make Its Way To India Soon, Current Paid Google Drive Subscribers To Be Upgraded

Google Drive’s subscription-only model, Google One that was launched in the US last month, is currently making its way to India. The news of the expansion was confirmed by the Google through a blog post. Back in May, the new cloud storage model by the search giant was announced on the basis of invitations only. The service offers paid Google Drive with storage plans on its cloud services at lower prices along with facilities like one-tap access to Google experts for the support and the ability to share photos and videos with family members. The Google One comes with different plans starting with a 200GB plan under which the consumer needs to pay USD 2.99 (Approx. Rs. 216) per month. The existing 1TB storage plan was shifted by Google to 2TB plan with a price tag of USD 9.99 (Approx. Rs. 720).

“Users in India will soon be able to enjoy more options to fit their storage needs – whether you’re working, connecting with friends, or preserving your memories,” writes Pavni Diwanji, VP of Google One, in the official blog post.

Over the next few weeks, according to Google, all the paid Google Drive storage subscribers in India will be upgraded to Google One automatically. Once the move is done, an email will be circulated by Google to announce the move. But the pricing for Indian consumer is yet to be announced by the American company.

The Android Police reported that a user in India has already witnessed the rollout of Google One in India. A user @techknowcity on its Twitter handle posted a screenshot suggesting the rollout and says that a paid Google Drive storage plan is all set to start with the upgrading process to Google One.

Apart from the new storage plans, Google One also offers a host of other benefits which include credits on Google Play and other deals like offers on select hotels which show up in Google Search and the ability to share your own storage with up to five family members. Google One also comes with the facility of support by experts only with one-tap access without any extra charge. The experts will help you to learn various consumer products and services on the platform.

The storage on a Google Once plan is inclusive for all data storage on Gmail and Google Photos. The plus point is that the users get the facility to store a large number of emails along with their respective attachments to keep their original quality of photos and videos.
