Graduates From BITS Pilani-Hyderabad Launch Mobile App ‘VISIT’ For Health Concerns

Four graduates of BITS Pilani-Hyderabad had created an on-demand healthcare platform, named VISIT. It is also known as the telemedicine app. This app connects patients with practitioners anytime, anywhere through Smartphone or computer. The four graduates are Anurag Prasad, Vaibhav Singh, Chetan Anand and Shashvat Tripathi.

This idea had come to these students who felt the need for such a service on the BITS Pilani campus, which is located in a remote area and accessing quality healthcare was inconvenient. Anurag Prasad said that “VISIT has 100-plus top practitioners since the launch of the app and 200 more of them are on the waiting list.”

These four guys were taken by technology company MapMyIndia. The company has taken a minority stake venture, which is now in talks with Indian and global venture capitalists to raise a major Series A round of funding for scaling up operations. VISIT was started with on-demand therapy to break the social taboo linked with consulting a therapist.

This app helps emotional problems like stress, anxiety, depression and relationship issues. In a research, it is said that there are more than 40 million in India who suffer from emotional problems. The venture plans to launch general physicians, pediatricians and in-house lab tests on its platform.

VISIT aims to avoid various frictions in the delivery of healthcare today like booking an OPD appointment, in-clinic waiting, and inability to get in-house doctor visits, said Prasad. This app helps to connect physicians on Video and resolve or diagnose and treat patients problems.
