The interstate newborn trafficking is being run at Gwalior based nursing home. This racket burst on Sunday saying that, they found two newborns with no record of birth and other details. The manager of the hospital says that the babies were kept for sale for those customers who pay around 50,000 to 1 lakh.
Tk Gupta, the owner of Palash Hospital started this illegal trade five years ago at Gwalior says Gwalior additional superintendent of police (ASP) Kumar Prateek. He also said the investigations so far indicated the racket was being run for last four years which is being operated with the help of agents around Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh adjoining Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
The police have rescued two newborns from the private hospital and out them one is with Gupta they suspect and other two are already sold to a couple who stay in Lucknow and Debra in Gwalior, police said. On this note, the police raided on Gupta`s house in Maheshpura Moral locality but did not find any newborn nor him.
“We’ll be sending teams to Lucknow and other places to track those who had bought the newborns through the racket being run at the private hospital. Efforts will also be made to track the biological parents of the newborns, adding that some other private nursing homes and hospitals in Gwalior too were under the police scanner for running similar rackets,” the Gwalior ASP said.
Along with Gupta, Bhadoria, Anupam Chauhan, Rinki and some other person has been booked against human trafficking case.
