After the thrilling and the sensational match between India and Bangladesh in Bengaluru, everyone is happy for India’s 1-run win. But one was not happy in terms of Appreciation. He is Big B Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan was upset with how the commentators chose to focus on the other players rather than on their own players.
His criticism of the commentators was shared by others who took to Twitter to air their views and discuss with Bachchan Sir. During this conversation, Big B had replied to many people who are reacting to his tweet.
T 2184 – With all due respects, it would be really worthy of an Indian commentator to speak more about our players than others all the time.

He concurred with Former Indian Express journalist Harneet Singh.

Interestingly, MS Dhoni himself joined the conversation with a simple post saying, “Nothing to add”. One could even spot MS’ irritation during the press conference as he hit out a journalist.

BCCI treasurer Anirudh Choudhary also added in his two cents on the discussion in praise of Virender Sehwag.
@msdhoni @SrBachchan that’s why it’s fun listening to @virendersehwag who speaks about our players with positivity and Viruism 🙂

During this conversation, a question arises ‘who Bachchan Sir was targeting in his comment.’ There were guesses of Sunil Gavaskar and Sanjay Manjrekar.
@AnthonyGoveas no not him not Sunil .. !!
— Amitabh Bachchan (@SrBachchan) March 23, 2016
@VikasAgarwalll @AnthonyGoveas no not him either ..

Commentator Harsha Bhogle and part of the broadcast team took to Facebook to clear the air on the issue. He clarified that the English feed is broadcast across the globe not just to the Indian audience hence the need for staying objective and focusing on both teams not just India.
Harsha Bhogle also sought to clear the air on Twitter prior to the message on Facebook.
Thanks to some of you for your comments on what seems a misconception of the role of a commentator. For the rest, will post shortly
