Heavy rains in Telangana especially in Hyderabad since few days have thrown the normal life out of gear. Due to huge floods, water entered low-lying areas and created huge traffic blocks in busy junctions. In few areas, people are forced to vacate their houses due to water coming inside their houses.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has instructed officials to rescue people using Army and Disaster Management teams and control the situation. Floods have caused huge financial loss like civil infrastructures like roads, cars, and property loss. Begumpet, Nizampet, Alwal and Hakimpet areas are heavily flooded.
Due to the burning of electric meters in the cellars of the apartments, there was no power supply and people are suffering a lot without it. Owners in apartments are spending huge amounts to pumping out water from cellars. Another big danger was sinkholes. We had seen a big sinkhole opened on Tank Bund. Three more sinkholes opened up on Thursday, taking the total to five.
