Why Late Announcement About Jayalalitha Death:

Jaya television’s subsidiary channel Jaya Plus allegedly broadcasting a slide announcing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s death kept social media buzzing through late Monday evening. The hospital management released a health bulletin stating the health condition of Jayalalitha. This is done to stop the rumors circulated in social media and the most popular TV Channels. The government stopped the broadcasting of all the news channels in Tamil Nadu state to stop the chaos about Jayalalitha death news.

Regional channels in Tamil Nadu started broadcasting news on Jayalalithaa’s death which led to confusion and minor incidents of violence. Only hours earlier in the evening, the hospital had denied reports that Jayalalithaa had died as “baseless and false” when TV channels said she was no more.

However, the main reason behind the late announcement about Jayalalitha death might be the decision on Successor of Jayalalitha. There are rumors about the Successor of Jayalalithaa; the next CM of Tamilnadu. After the news of Jayalalitha grave situation, party authorities collected the opinion of all the party MLA’s and sources report that 135 MLAs have signed a deal to back Panneerselvam as next TN CM.

Panneerselvam stepped in as the chief minister when Jayalalithaa was in legal trouble. While some are bringing actor Ajith’s name to be the true successor of Jayalalitha there are some more candidates standing in the race of TN CM after Jayalalitha. Some of them are Selvarajan, Sasikala who is a close aide of Jayalalitha. In order to settle the internal cold wars in AIADMK, the party leaders took some time to settle down the issue.

After settling the internal issues, the party made an official announcement on Jayalalitha death. The Apollo Hospitals released the official letter about the demise of AMMA. “It is with indescribable grief, we announce the sad demise of our esteemed Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Puratchi Thalaivi Amma at 11.30 PM today,” Apollo Hospitals said in a statement.
