Social media has been playing a vital role in our daily life, someone like External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj is using this online media as a medium of assistance, someone is building their careers meanwhile there are some people who often find themselves in between the jaws of controversies.
The popular Indian writer Shobha De now joined that list after body shaming a Mumbai policeman. She all of sudden tweeted a picture of a cop sarcastically captioning it “Heavy police bandobast in Mumbai today!”.
On one side the meaning of the tweet is referring to the ongoing BMC elections in Mumbai, on the other side, the tweet refers to body shaming the cop. Being the most active and responsive policemen of the country, they didn’t hold the tweet for a long time, the social media department of Mumbai police quickly took on to their twitter handle and gave a befitting reply.
However, from very before the response from Mumbai Police, netizens flooded the De’s twitter handle with trolls and criticism.

We love puns too Ms De but this one is totally imisplaced. Uniform/official not ours. We expect better from responsible citizens like you. https://t.co/OcKOoHO5bX

.@DeShobhaa if body shaming is worthy of condemnation for women, men deserve the same. Gender equality needs advocates, not your puns😬👺
