Husband And His Brothers Gang Rape A Woman For Dowry

An 8-year-old Muslim girl was locked in a Hindu shrine, drugged, gang-raped for several days and bludgeoned to death with a stone. The case has provoked nationwide outrage not seen since 2012, when a 23-year-old physiotherapist was gang-raped and killed on a bus in New Delhi. That crime prompted calls for tougher laws to address the nearly 39,000 sexual assaults that occur in this country every year. But more than five years later, the number of rapes reported to police is rising.

At the same time, in northern Uttar Pradesh state, a teenage girl attempted to light herself on fire outside the residence of the state’s top official as the girl accused a BJP lawmaker of raping her at his house last year.

Now another case has come out. This time its a woman who was gangraped by husband and his brothers after she failed to fulfil their demands of dowry.

According to complaint by the woman on Monday, she has been harassed by her husband and six other family members, including father-in-law and mother-in-law.
Victim married the accused who is a police officer. She alleged that she was gang raped by her husband and two brother-in-laws. She married him in 2014.
A case is filed under various sections against the constable and his family members. Arrests are yet to be made.
However, the accused is suspended after the complaint is filed.
