Nature is vibrant and pleasant as long as we don’t take any indulgence in polluting it. There’s a way to deal with everything, there are people who simply drop water cans on the roads, there are people who drop them in dustbins and there is this kind of people who does something that is completely out of the box.
The output becomes fruitful and efficient at the same time when art meets nature, a bus stop in Hyderabad can be seen to be made of 1000 Recycled Plastic Bottles drags everyone’s attention and gives a good example to keep clean and utilize the resources that they have. It appears like the people behind this had some serious concerns for PM Modi’s ‘Swach Bharat’ and Art.
According to the sources, this was conceptualized and constructed by ‘Bamboo House India’ under their ‘Recycle India’ initiative. You can see this bus stop in Swaroopnagar colony of Hyderabad city.
When a media channel approached the crew behind this, Prashant Lingam, the founder of Bamboo House India, emphasized that only recycled plastic bottles were used to construct the bus stop, even though they typically cost more than new plastic bottles.
Made of 1,000 recycled plastic bottles, bought from a scrap dealer, the shelter is 8-foot-high with a metal frame. The bus stop was built by a 20-member team in just 2-3 days tenure.
There’s no surprise in believing that the total expenses for the project are only Rs. 15,000, with each recycled bottle costing Rs. 1.40. Instead, a bus stop that is built of cement and bricks would sum up to Rs 2-3 lakh rupees. Other than being special there is an another advantage of this bus stop, the whole set up can be dismantled easily whenever it is felt necessary.
This bus stop also possesses some nature-friendly features, as the construction involved the fine usage of Bamboo sticks. Towards the back and top of the bus stop, there’s thick foliage of green bamboo shoots, which provides natural protection from the heat and the sun and is also quite soothing to the eyes.
“We have received positive feedback from the community about the bus stop. People actually use it too” said Mr. Lingam.
