The ball beat outside off Matt Renshaw’s bat. David Warner tried to come down the track to get to the pitch of the line. All in all, we have a fascinating game in our hands. But everything went out of control on the Day 2 of the first test against Australia.
Australia bowler Steve O’Keefe bagged six wickets to script India’s worst collapse in the past two decades. Looking at the records, this is India’s worst ever fall down in history. Last time they lost seven wickets in a hurry, the managed 18 runs in Christchurch in 1989-90.
“I’ve never seen a pitch like this in Indian conditions. A pitch that dry suggests that there has been no water on this for the last 7-8 days. Some huge cracks here and that without the sun coming out,” practically shouted Ravi Shastri during the pitch report.
From 94/3 to 105 all out, India collapse to Steve O’Keefe
O’Keefe captured 6 for 35, his analysis made more stunning by the fact that all six of his wickets came in a spell of 25 deliveries after the lunch break.
Twitter, however, couldn’t swallow this pill and bashed out on the Indian batting line-up completely.

Top performance from Steve O’Keefe. The pitch might be an ally but still need to bowl well on it.

India playing three of four tests at new venues a bit like aus hosting India at newcastle geelong and cairns…maybe a bit more turn

“Never seen a pitch like this” — not true, we’ve had games abandoned before a ball was bowled, or early on day 1 for posing physical danger

Once again I wonder at wisdom of architects designing cricket grounds in India with next to no sun shade #IndvAus

Last but not the least our beloved Twitter King tweeted about India batting lineup.
