India has been celebrating 2014 year with many leading tournaments such as Pro Kabbadi, Indian Super League and now International Premier Tennis League laying an immense importance to sports in Indian contingent. The International Premier Tennis League (IPTL, officially the Coca-Cola International Premier Tennis League Presented by Qatar Airways pursuant to sponsorship agreements with The Coca-Cola Company and Qatar Airways) is a team tennis league founded in 2013 that launched in November 2014, with teams in four Asian cities: Dubai, Manila, New Delhi and Singapore. The International Premier Tennis League brings together current champions, tennis legends and upcoming talent in a format that’s never been seen before. Created to fulfill the increasing demand for top-level tennis in Asia, it’s the first city-based professional league in the world, played across four countries. From 28th November to 13th December, 2014, the teams will play a total of 24 matches in a round robin format to determine the inaugural IPTL League Champion. Modelled after successful sports franchise concepts, the IPTL combines world-class sports and entertainment in a format that keeps both, spectators and TV viewers completely engrossed.

IPTL started its inaugural season on 28 November 2014, with the Indian Aces defeating the Singapore Slammers, 26–16, in in Pasay, Metropolitan Manila, Philippines. Rohan Bopanna served the first point of the league’s inaugural match. On 30 November, the Aces defeated the UAE Royals in Pasay, 28–20, in a matchup of two previously unbeaten teams to move into first place in the standings at the end of the league’s Philippine swing. IPTL announced that STAR Sports would broadcast the league’s matches live in both standard definition and high definition in India during its inaugural 2014 season. The league’s matches will also be available live on STAR Sports website. UAE Royals sought to defend their spot at the head of the standings in the International Premier Tennis League which drew all the attention of Tennis sports to India. Tough fight for the top position in the lead board and scoreboard of International Premier Tennis League took place between the Indian Aces and the Manila Mavericks and bagged crucial victories on Day 8 of the IPTL campaign.
17 time grand slam champion Swiss fable tennis player Roger Federer representing Indian Aces made his debut at the IPTL and took over the opponents Manila Mavericks and Singapore Slammers and stood victorious in all the three matches he played. Roger Federer’s Victory at IPTL was inspiring for the rest Indian Aces team and helped Indian Aces team to a 26-16 victory. The Swiss maestro won his singles leg with Tomas Berdych 6-4 after excelling in the doubles clashes alongside Rohan Bopanna and Sania Mirza which made the Indian Aces team the crowd favorite team. Roger Federer shared his views and excitement of playing in India with Media stating as “It is special (to be in India) to say the least. I have played in many places in the world, but there is nothing like playing somewhere for the first time. India is a big country with lots of history, tradition in culture or sport and to come and finally play here is really a pleasure and privilege.”
