Indian Railways have been gradually developing in serving the passengers with comfort, best infrastructure, and facilities. Our Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu has been doing a great job in developing Indian Railways and solving the problems of passengers while travelling. We had seen many incidents when Suresh Prabhu reacted positively and took immediate actions to issues on social media on the passenger’s problems.
On World Environment Day which is on 5th June 2016, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu flagged off the new train called Tiger Express. It is a semi luxurious train which takes you through Bandhavgarh and Kanha National Parks, in Madhya Pradesh. Which is why the train was named Tiger Express since the national parks are famous for their tigers.
The Tiger Express is scheduled to run regularly on the tracks from October this year. It offers 5 days-6-nights travel package that include 3 Tiger Safaris and a visit to Dhuadhar Waterfall in Bedhaghat near Jabalpur.
The prices of courses are as follows: AC first-class is available at 49,500 for single occupancy, whereas double and triple will cost you 45,500 & 44,900 respectively. It costs Rs 39,500 for a child and an extra bed.
AC 2-tier isn’t quite cheap either with prices starting from Rs 33,500 to Rs 43,500. Foreigners will be charged additional Rs 4000 per person for the Safari booking at Bandhavgarh and Kanha. This is the first semi-luxury train on a tourist circuit to have a dining car. The train also provided shower cubicle for its passengers.
Though the prices are little high, it’s not only for the train journey and the safaris. The package includes 3 nights’ accommodation in three-star hotels (1N- Bandhavgarh & 2N- Kanha), travelling with the cities, travel by road (in AC cars) and not to mention, buffet meals.
