The internet loves Rahul Gandhi, and he has been a thing for fun for many years now. But now, has he become matured? Time and again, the internet never fails to make him or his memes go viral, but for all the other reasons, Rahul Gandhi, the current and new President of the Congress always finds a reason to get trolled every other day for one reason or the other. This seems like a daily thing for him.
Here is a video of Rahul Gandhi has been making rounds on the internet for two days now. In this video, Rahul Gandhi can be seen responding the questioner in Singapore recently regarding the contribution of the Nehru-Gandhi family to the Indian economy.
The man in the video PK Basu raised a question to the Congress President, “Why is it that when your family ruled the country, India’s per capita income grew slower than the world average, but since your family relinquished the PM-ship, India’s per capita income has grown much substantially faster than the world average?”
Rahul Gandhi replied with a question, “And what is your hypothesis?”
For this question from Mr. Gandhi, PK Basu replied with wit. He said: “I asked you the question. I am here to ask the question. My hypothesis is in my book. Please read the book.”
The audience gave a big round of applause for this question.
Even though Rahul Gandhi wanted to dodge the question very badly, but had to answer as all the eyes were on him, Mr. Gandhi said, “You are giving a helluva lot of power to one family.”
The debate moved further until the Congress President had uttered: “So you are saying that I have absolutely no role in the Indian politics from 2004 to today? You are saying that? Make up your mind. I either have a role or I don’t, you can’t give me both the options,”
Rahul Gandhi further added: Now you notice something else… Mr. Narendra Modi would never do that. You would never have the ability to say in front of Modiji what you said to me. And I absolutely blazingly proud of that,”
Later Rahul Gandhi also said: “Anybody in this room who thinks that the Congress is not party to the success, anybody who thinks that gaining Independence was not part of that success, that one man, one vote which the RSS opposed, was not part of that success, anybody who thinks that Green revolution was not part of that success.. anybody who thinks that the telecom was not part of that success.. anybody who thinks that liberalization was not part of that success… needs to write a new book,”
Rahul Gandhi here absolutely nailed the debate. Here is the post from the official twitter handle of Indian National Congress. This is what they tweeted.
