Jammu and Kashmir: 55 Security Personnel Killed In Just 2 Months  

2019 has been bad and violent for Jammu and Kashmir, in the first 2 months of 2019, the total number of deaths recorded for the security personnel has reached 55. Last year was one of the most violent years that Jammu and Kashmir have ever had, 100 soldiers were killed in 2018 alone. In 2017 there were 83 recorded deaths.

According to satp.org 56 security personnel passed away this year in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Indian Army lost 10 of their personnel, 5 of them were killed in the Pulwama Terrorist Attack that happened on 14 February 2019, 40 CRPF soldiers were killed in the attack.

After the Pulwama terrorist attack, 5 Indian army soldiers and 8 security personnel were killed in Jammu and Kashmir.

The total numbers of terrorists that have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir are also on the rise. Before February 14, 28 terrorists were already killed. After the Pulwama terrorist attack that was planned by the JeM (Jaish-e-Mohammed) 16 terrorists were killed by the Indian Army.

Pakistan has also violated a couple of ceasefire treaties on the LoC (Line of Control).

Before 14 February 2019, 267 ceasefire violations were recorded and after the Pulwama terrorist attack, there have been 228 ceasefire violations.

Last year, the Indian security forces killed 260 terrorists. Naveed Jatt, a member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba was also killed last year. The total number of terrorists that were killed in 2018 topped the records in the past 8 years. In 2010, 270 terrorists were killed by the Indian security forces.
