Japan is looking up for opening up its doors for the IT professionals from India. This also includes issuing green cards to settle down in Japan and support the country’s IT infrastructure which is expanding rapidly. Shigeki Maeda, Executive Vice President at Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), confirmed said this news here on Thursday.
As of now, there are around 9, 20,000 IT professions in Japan and there is an immediate requirement for more than 2, 00,000 IT professionals from India which would require another 8, 00,000 IT professionals by the year 2030. He said while addressing his keynote at the India-Japan Business Partnership Seminar, which was jointly organized by Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce and JETRO.
This is being necessitated due to the advent of rapid technological innovations in the societal needs in country. Japan wants to fill in this yawning gap and is looking towards India’s assistance in the IT space. Many Japanese companies feel the limitations to conventional “in-house innovation” and hence moving towards “most-advanced IT Technology Capabilities” for which India is the most ideal partner to look out for,” he said.
He further added, “due to this conscientious process, there is a dearth of well-qualified and trained IT professionals to enhance its competitiveness, particularly, in the areas of life-science, finance, services and agriculture.”
He also said that the Japanese government will be issuing Green Cards for the highly skilled professionals and he added that this is the first of its kind in the world, providing the people in getting a permanent resident status in less than one year.
Japan has eased the process of issuing Visa for Indian travellers with effect from January 1, 2018.
According to the new norms in terms of Visa, the applicants need not to submit their employment certificate and the letters of explanation when applying multiple-entry visas. And, the amount of documents that are need to be submitted has been considerably reduced to three now. However, in case if a person has to travel to Japan twice in a year, the documents will be reduced further to only two. This only includes the passport and the visa application form.
