Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had undergone treatment in Apollo Hospitals Chennai for about 75 days since her hospitalization on September 22nd this year. The Management of Apollo Hospitals in Chennai has sent the bill for treatment of former chief minister Jayalalithaa to the state government.
When a Chief Minister is admitted to a hospital, usually, state & center governments have to bear the costs. Jayalalitha after fighting 75 days with her illness finally left her last breath on Dec 5th 11:30 PM, as reported by Apollo hospitals. Here is the complete hospital bill quoted by Apollo for treating Jayalalitha for 75 days.

Jayalalitha Hospital Bill For 75 Days:
The medical bills of Jayalalithaa’s treatment for 75 days is around whopping Rs 80 Crore. Apparently, it’s revealed with the petition filed by an RTI activist. Apollo Hospitals have reportedly charged nearly 80 Crore bill for the medical treatment of Jayalalithaa. If miscellaneous charges are also included, the cost would be higher. Already, state health department has paid Rs 6 Crore to the hospital.
As per reports, two days after Jayalalithaa was admitted into the hospital on Sep 22, entire 2nd floor, where Jaya’s room, had been vacated. There are 30 rooms in the floor, and all have been vacated. And the rent of all these 30 rooms has been included in Jaya’s medical bill. The rent of these rooms per day is estimated at Rs. 1 Crore. The charges of ECMO, other life-support instruments are said to be additional.
Also, 39 Apollo doctors’ consultation charges, medicines, nursing charges, Intensive care specialist from UK’s London Bridge Hospital, Dr. Richard John Beale and his team, Singapore physiotherapists and their fee costs haven’t included in the bill. The estimated cost for them is reportedly Rs. 70 crores. The deployment of police personnel, security and their daily costs are also additional which police department said to have sent to the govt.
Finally, including all other expenses Jayalalitha’s hospital bill crosses Rs. 150 Crores.
