Jio Nears To Become Biggest Telecom Operator, Airtel Reviews Rs.168 Recharge to Allow 1GB Daily Data With 28 Days Validity

This week, Jio was reported for increasing its subscriber base up by as many as 11 million new users in the month of July and leaving aside Vodafone and Idea in terms of market share. With that, the Ambani-led company is just behind Airtel in the Indian telecom sector despite the fact that the newly formed Vodafone Idea Limited (VIL) the merged form of Vodafone and Idea combined still has got more total users against both the operators. And now, with the news that Jio getting close to becoming the biggest standalone telecom operator, Airtel is reportedly said to have refreshed its offer of Rs. 168 prepaid pack for select subscribers in the National Capital of Delhi and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana telecom circles. After the revision, the Rs. 168 pack of Airtel recharge now comes with 1GB of 2G/3G/4G data per day, 100 SMS messages per day and unlimited voice calls (local, STD, and roaming). The pack’s validity is of 28 days, allowing the user to have data benefits of up to 28GB.

The interesting development was reported by the Telecom Talk. Notably, the pack was not verifiable independently and the website of Airtel only reflects the pack’s earlier benefits that go such: 1GB of 2G/3G/4G data with 100 SMS messages per day, unlimited voice calling.

In the last week of last month, Vodafone offered a competing recharge pack of Rs. 159. Under the pack, prepaid subscribers are availed with 1GB of 2G/3G/4G data per day with 100 SMS messages per day and unlimited voice calling with a 250 minute daily and 1,000 minutes of weekly limit. But this pack to is valid in the Delhi, Mumbai, Gujarat, Chennai and Andhra circles.

And this week, Airtel came up with five new recharge packs with prices ranging between Rs. 178 and Rs. 559. All of these packs avail subscribers with unlimited voice calling, SMS benefits, and other certain high-speed data benefits. And all these packs are available across multiple telecom circles.

If compared with other packs in the same range, Jio has got an Rs. 149 recharge pack that comes with 1.5GB of 4G data per day, unlimited voice calling along with 100 SMS messages per day with a total validity of 28 days.  This pack has got a low price and avails offers more benefits when compared to the Airtel Rs. 168 pack. As per the expectations, there will more offers due to the stiff competition in the country.
