Kerala NEET Student Shares Her Ugly Experience During The Examination

With the days passing, we’re only going worse in terms of moral values. These days one cannot pass a day or turn a news paper’s page without acknowledging a molestation or rape incident. After all, a surprising growth is observed in the number of assault cases recently. Despite the strong amendments and stud transformations, authorities are simply unable to tackle the issue persistently.

Though there are certain incidents in which women take the adverse advantage of the leniency of laws that are bluntly against men, there are no unconventional possibilities in the majority of situations. Starting from the assault case that shocked everyone which has happened in Kerala’s Kozhikode, a teen was beaten up in Mumbai’s streets. Now, after all, another saddening incident has taken place in Kerala.

The shocking incident that has come to light from Palakkad city, a NEET aspirant girl was allegedly harassed by an examination invigilator. She narrated the whole ordeal in the complaint that she filed with the local police station, alleging that an external observer had stared at her in a vulgar manner.

In the letter, she added that during the pre-examination frisking with the metal detector, she was asked to remove her bra because it had metal parts. “There was hardly any privacy in that space. I had to undress in the cover of an old sack which was being held by a woman. With just minutes before writing the exam, I had already lost my confidence,” she said.

In addition to that, she was not comfortable writing the examination as a male external observer kept staring at her inappropriately. “As we started writing the exam, a male observer from CBSE came for checking. Initially, I didn’t notice him, but he came and stood right in front of me at least 3 or 4 times. This made me really comfortable as they had already asked me to remove the inner. We didn’t have the permission to use shawl or dupatta. He kept staring at my chest repeatedly and I had to hide my body with the question paper,” the NEET aspirant said.

“I felt like running out of the examination hall but I didn’t because of my family. At around 12:30, he came to the exam hall again and I was hiding my body with the question paper yet again. As this continued for quite some time, I did not get enough time to attend the physics questions properly. I was really hurt by this,” she further added.

Days before this, many aspirants complained that they were forced to cut their sleeves short as long sleeves were against the CBSE-NEET guidelines. Based on the student’s complaint, the city’s North Station registered a case under IPC sect 509 and investigations are underway, said police.
