Internationally renowned cricket tournament Indian Premier League is about to commence in few days while ahead of the tournament a new controversy bugged out. Off-spinner Sunil Narine’s participation into tournament of the Kolkata Knight Riders is causing a collision course with the BCCI.
Suresh Narine Banned From Playing the International Tournaments
During the 2014 Champions League Twenty20 Sunil Narine was banned for his suspect action and was ordered not to play in the final against the Chennai Super Kings which was lost by the KKR by eight wickets. Apart from this Sunil Narine was not selected for the West Indies tour and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 although ICC cleared his biomechanical test in Lough borough after his modification. Sunil Narine was called during a Champions League Twenty20, a tournament that is run by the BCCI by the ICC which didn’t recognize the test since he was not called during an international match.
According to the rules in the BCCI, since he was called for a second time, he was banned from bowling in any BCCI-organized tournament. Thus, BCCI refused to accept the reports of the ICC and thus BCCI directed the off spinner to undergo another round of testing at the Sri Ramachandra University in Chennai. KKR is seeking a legal action against at the BCCI and at the other KKR is believed to be well prepared to pull out of the tournament if Sunil Narine is not allowed to play in the IPL.
KKR is stating that since the bowler is cleared and accepted his bowling action of ICC. Added to this KKR also stated that there is no need to undergo second test and the management is firm that it will not force Narine to undergo another test. KKR management has approached BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya and conveyed their perspective saying that Sunil Narine has been ‘targeted’. KKR said that Sunil Narine was not called for chucking during the IPL but his action was suddenly found illegal in two consecutive matches in the CLT20. Office of the President of BCCI has affirmed that the matter has reached the president’s table and that a decision could be taken in a day or two. CEO of KKR Venky Mysore has refused.
KKR chief executive officer Venky Mysore has refused to confirm or deny the reports about his team speaking to Dalmiya. In the meantime KKRhad surprised everyone replacing the Chris Lynn and Jimmy Neesham within Johan Botha and Azhar Mahmood. Stress fracture in his back Jimmy Neesham wouldn’t be playing this IPL Tournament. On other hand Chris Lynn is suffering with the hamstring injury which may not allow him to play the whole tournament. Venky Mysore conveyed these facts through his Twitter handle in the micro-blogging site Twitter.
