Know How Facebook Post Changes Struggling Life of Young Teen into Simplified One

A passerby outside a metro station in Noida was encountered with a deplorable scene of a boy doing his homework under the vision of streetlight and getting along his meager business with weighing scale next to him. Lamented with this heart-wrenching incident the passerby Vikas Sharda  shared a snapshot of the boy hunched over his schoolwork outside the pavement of metro station in Noida on Facebook.

Social Media Comes to Aide of 13 Year Old Harendra Singh for Better Education

Soon after the sharing of a post in no time the 13-year-old Harendra Singh became an instant hit on social media. His story has been widely shared by online social networking community. Facebook users and social network users shared the that the racking story of Harendra sitting unnoticed on a pavement, using the streetlamp to do his homework while waiting for customers who would check their weight and throw him a few coins.

Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, who himself had been a social networking geek called on to the child after being ascertained with the viral story of Harendra Singh. CM of UP, Akhilesh Yadav announced five lakh rupees for the teen and said his education would be funded by the state government. It was hard enough to imagine meeting CM Akhilesh Yadav and most of his problems being solved, for the 13 year old Harendra Singh who is studying 9th standard in Sri Krishna Inter College after chatting with a stranger.

Amused Harendra Singh said, “My father lost his job in June and has not been well. For the last one-and-a-half months, I’ve been coming here at 7 pm every day to earn some money so that I could buy stationery.” His family sources living in a single seven-feet-by-seven-feet room for five people  added that sometimes he used to make around 70 rupees a day while sometimes less before heading back to home.

Man behind this great cause, online social networker and Facebook user Vikas Sharda who shared the story of Harendra Singh after moved with the words of him sprawled over a pile of copies (notebooks) shared the story in facebook as “I want you people who travel from Noida metro after 7 pm to use his services and somehow help him get back to studies. And PLEASE don’t make him feel like a beggar.”

Fully unaware of his impact over the million hearts of social media Harendra Singh said, “I am happy now that I can study ahead.” This young lad of Noida aims to be an army officer, let’s all wish him good luck.
