Lalu Prasad Yadav Shares A Picture Of His Mega Rally, Twitterati Left Scratching Head After Seeing The Fishy Photo

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief, Lalu Prasad Yadav held a massive rally in Bihar’s capital Patna on Sunday. The rally is designed as a show of opposition strength. Political big shots including Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, West Bengal Chief Minister, and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav were present in the mega anti- BJP rally in the city’s Gandhi Maidan.

Lalu Yadav wife, sons Tejaswi and Tej Pratap Yadav, and daughter Misa Bharti, a Rajya Sabha MP were also present in the event. As expected, thousands of people attended the rally and halted in the Gandhi Maidan.

Not Lalu Prasad Yadav, not people sparked the buzz online. It’s Lalu Prasad Yadav’s tweet that sparked the buzz. Lalu tweeted a morphed picture of the people in the Maidan which showed an excess number of people in it.

Photos showing crowd strength have frequently dominated Twitter verse this year. Starting way back in January when people compared crowds at US President Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony with that of his predecessor Barack Obama, to the masses of people who gathered recently to welcome actress Sunny Leone in Kochi.

Lalu’s tweet read, “No ‘Face’ will stand in front of Lalu’s “Base”. Come & Count as much as u can in Gandhi Maidan, Patna #DeshBachao”, along with a photo of the Gandhi Maidan seemingly teeming with people.

The image appeared to have been digitally altered to show a larger crowd than real. Within moments of Mr. Yadav posting the picture, social media users started pointing out the goof.

About an hour later, ANI posted images allegedly from the Opposition rally in Patna, claiming that the “crowd sizes” were “different” than in the photograph posted by Lalu and the ones shared by the news agency.

Soon, sarcasm made an appearance as well.

Some even offered help to the leader who recently ended the alliance with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. They shared images they thought were photoshopped better.

The RJD’s rally comes weeks after the party was ousted from power in Bihar, following Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s dramatic resignation and re-appointment. No one is safe from Twitter’s hawkish eyes.
