Man Blows Up His Car With Excessive Use Of Air Freshener

A driver accidentally blew up his car after spraying too much air freshener inside it and lighting up a cigarette afterward.

According to reports, the man parked his vehicle in Halifax, West Yorkshire, when he sprayed the inside of his black seat with an air freshener.

The young man, whose name was not shared with the public, decided to light up a cigarette after spraying the air freshener while the windows were closed.

The fumes reacted with the spark and caused a massive explosion.

The explosion was so massive that shops near the car had their windows shattered.

The driver got out of his car, and was rushed to a hospital.

The man got away with minor injuries.

A witness who was present when the incident happened said, “We heard an enormous bang and then moments later the emergency services arrived. Unbelievably, the driver just climbed out. We couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw he was hardly hurt at all.”

The West Yorkshire Police released a statement about the incident.

The statement said, “Shortly after 3pm on Saturday Fountain Street had to be closed. The owner of a car parked on the street had used an air freshener can but not ventilated his car before lighting a cigarette.”

The statement added, “The fumes exploded and blew out his windscreen along with some windows at nearby business premises. The owner fortunately sustained only minor injuries but this could have been worse.”

The statement continued, “Please can members of the public be careful and follow guidelines when using air freshener cans. The police and fire service have finished their investigation and the road is now reopened.”

The Halifax Town was closed for a bit after the incident happened.

The police have issued a warning to the people and said they should not light anything inside the car.
