Man Threatened To Set Nightclub On Fire After Finding Out They Weren’t Selling Red Bull

When you go to a shop to buy something and you find out that they’re not selling it, you would normally go to a new shop that actually sells it, but one man wasn’t happy with this.

A man from Oxfordshire threatened to set nightclub on fire after he found out that they were not selling Red Bull.

Michael Day, the man, threw a petrol canister at a club that was full of people.

He also flicked a lighter and told the staff and club-goers that he would “burn every last one” of them.

The incident happened at Shush Nightclub in Wantage, Oxfordshire, after the staff told him that they do not sell Red Bull, a type of energy drink.

38-year-old Day from Wantage was arrested and was set to stand trial for making threats.

He later admitted attempted arson and 2 counts of making threats to kill.

During a sentencing hearing, the Oxford Crown Court heard that the 38-year-old went to the nightclub on the evening of April 28, 2019, even after being banned there.

Michael went inside and bought a can of Red Bull, but because they were not selling it, they gave him an alternative drink.

The staff of the night club said Day became aggressive after finding out they were not selling Red Bull.

After being thrown out of the club, Day went to his house and came back with a large 20-liter white plastic container that was filled with petrol.

In CCTV footage that was shown during the court hearing, Day could be seen pouring petrol at the entrance of the club.

Day then went inside and flicked a lighter. This is where he started to scream death threats.

He also shouted racist abuse towards one member of the nightclub’s staff.

As he was shouting, Day had a cigarette in his mouth, and he said, “I am going to burn every last one of you.”

When the incident happened, there were 177 people inside the club.

The smell of the fumes wafted inside the club, and it was later evacuated.

At the time of his arrest, Day told the police that he drank up 7 bottles of Corona, a beer beverage, and was not intending to start a fire.

Day added that he wanted to scare the people inside the club.

Day was sentenced by Maria Lamb, the judge at the Oxford Crown Court.

Day was sentenced for 5 years and 2 months.
