Man Who Stole $88,000 From Bank Vault Arrested After Flashing Stacks Of $100 Bills On Social Media

Federal investigators have arrested a 29-year-old man from Charlotte for stealing $88,000 from a bank vault.

29-year-old Arlando M. Henderson was arrested after images of him holding $100 bills were shared on social media.

According to reports, Arlando had access to the vault at the Wells Fargo location where he used to work.

According to a federal indictment filed in the U.S. District Court in the Western District of North Carolina on November 19, 2019, Arlando stole the sum over the course of at least 18 different occasions in 2019.

News released by the FBI said the vault that he stole the money from had money from customers.

Arlando was hired by Wells Fargo in April, and by July, he stole over $70,000 in cash.

The court documents said Arlando stole around $200 to $13,500 per day.

Arlando posted images and videos of him holding large stacks of cash on his social media accounts through July and August this year.

The money that he stole from the bank was injured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

To conceal his actions, Arlando would destroy certain documents and made various false entries in the books to falsify deposit slips.

Arlando was arrested in San Diego on December 4, 2019.

What Did He Do With The Money?

After stealing the money from the bank’s vault, Arlando would deposit the money in $50 and $100 bills into his account at an ATM near the bank.

Arlando used the money to pay for personal expenses and to make a $20,000 cash payment on a 2019 Mercedes-Benz vehicle.

Arlando also obtained a fraudulent car loan from another financial institution to pay for the remaining balance on that vehicle by using falsified documents.

Charges He Is Facing

Arlando is currently facing charges of 2 counts of financial institution fraud, 19 counts of theft, embezzlement and misapplication, 12 counts of making false entries, and transactional money laundering.

If found guilty in the charges, Arlando can be sentenced to a maximum penalty of 40 years in prison.

He can also be slapped with a $1.25 million fine.
