Due to a massive landslide from the top of the hill in Himachal Pradesh, around ten people were killed and many were injured severely. The building adjoins the historic Manikaran Sahib Gurdwara cave. Sikhs treat the Gurdwara as an important place of worship because it is believed that once, Guru Nanak came to the place.

The Deputy Commissioner of Kullu, Rakesh Kanwar said that the people were buried under huge rocks and after recognizing them, the bodies have been removed. The people who witnessed the incident said that there would be more than ten people who were taking shelter in the building. They are shocked seeing the incident.
Still the search is going on as the eyewitnesses said that there may be more number of people under the rocks. The district administration has sought the assistance of Gurdwara authorities in locating and identifying the bodies as most people staying in the building were outsiders. The remaining people ran away from the building and many were trapped as a huge portion of the building collapsed.
The local and Gurdwara authorities immediately started the rescue operations. Those injured have been admitted to zonal hospital at Kullu and condition of seven of them is stated to be serious. However, HP CM Virbhadra Singh has said that 7 people are dead. The district administration has sought the assistance of Gurdwara authorities in locating and identifying the bodies as most people staying in the building were outsiders.
