The world’s largest railway networks comprising 115,000 km (71,000 mi) of track over a route of 65,808 km (40,891 mi) and 7,112 stations owned and operated by Government of India through the Ministry of Railways has been up with some of the best 5 measures and new amendments to make the journey of its passengers more safer and comfortable. Most of this new measures include installation of new mechanisms, running of new trains, the extension of onboard housekeeping services and many more things.

When it comes to the happy safer and more comfortable journey of passengers Indian Railways has always been ahead of others in most of the cases. We have listed down top 5 new measures which about to be followed by Indian Railways to improve the travelling experience of passengers accessing its services.

#1 Measure: Monitoring mechanism Grounded on Various Conditions

In order to avoid accidents and fortuities during the journey, Indian railways would be deploying the condition based monitoring mechanism which would have two systems where the initial one would on board figuring the technical glitches such as of roller bearings, coach suspension etc. On the other hand, the second system would be figuring out the defects in wheels, hanging parts, broken springs and other parts of the coaches.

#2 Measure: Fathering Dual Purpose Locomotives

Across the nation as many of the busy railway lines are not facilitated with electrical lines. Hence, Indian Railways is a determinant of the building and starting a dual purpose locomotive which would be able to run on both kinds of lines i.e., on electricity as well as diesel. This would save fuel, in either case, extending the services of it pan India and more operable.

#3 Measure: Installation of Water Level Indicators in Coach Water Tanks

Water level indicators are about to be installed in all train coach water tanks very shortly so as to bring down the huge wastage of water.

#4 Measure: Uncompromising Housekeeping Services

To make the passengers of it more comfortable Indian railways would making the housekeeping services of it better than the earlier one. Currently, in about 571 trains the onboard housekeeping service (OBHS) is being offered by Indian Railways which would be made better intensifying the services adding more than 414 trains by 2016-17.

#5. Measure: Ameliorated Cleanliness

Cleanliness seems to be topping the list  of the new amendments and has been yielding better results. So far Indian Railways has successfully conducted the trials for garbage disposable bags on trains, building trials for garbage disposable bags on trains and aiming to extend similar kind of measures in future.
