Medha Narvekar Appointed as Vice President of The University Of Pennsylvania

The University of Pennsylvania has appointed Indian American Medha Narverkar as their Vice President and Secretary.

Medha Narverkar got her MBA from Wharton School, a notice from the University of Pennsylvania said that she will be in the office by July 1, 2019.

Medha Narverkar has worked for 32 years at the DAR (Development and Alumni Relations) Office of the University of Pennsylvania. Before getting hired as the Vice President of the University of Pennsylvania, she was the Vice President of the Development and Alumni Relations.

Amy Gutman, the President of the University of Pennsylvania said that “Medha is both renowned and respected across Penn. Very few people know Penn as well or have worked so successfully with so many people across our university. Her extensive experience across all areas — including working directly with trustees, overseers and Penn’s most generous donors — gives her a unique capacity to step into the important position of vice president and secretary.”

Medha Narverkar got her bachelor’s degree in 1981 from the Swarthmore College, she got her MBA in 1986 from the Wharton School.

Medha Narverkar will continue to work at the Development and Alumni Relations even after she has been appointed as the new Vice President of the University of Pennsylvania. Medha Narverkar will be a liaison from Development and Alumni Relations to the President’s Office, and she will still be a member of the Senior Management Team of the Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Pennsylvania is moving through the final phases of the Fundraising Campaign that is called the “Power of Penn”.

Medha Narvekar will succeed Leslie Kruhly, she is set to retire by the last week of June 2019.
