The waterfall is one of the favourite places for destination among tourist during monsoon. It is situated in Tungareshwar forest which is located at the distance of 70 km from Mumbai. The news came up from the waterfall in Mumbai where a man died, and 106 people are rescued from the waterfall.
This waterfall is one of the liked places in Mumbai during monsoon season. The waterfall named Chinchoti is in Vasai, it is one of the most popular picnic spots in the Palghar district.
The incident took place on Saturday. After heavy rain, there is a sudden rise in the water level. Due to a sudden increase in the water level tourist struck there. They don’t even get a chance to rescue themselves. For retrieving the tourist over there, a navy helicopter joined efforts to evacuate the tourists.
Forces give their best to rescue all the people stuck in the waterfall. Even after the many efforts by the troops, one man was found dead. The police identified the man killed as Bhavesh Gupta. He is 35 years old. According to the soldiers, most of the people rescued are from the northern Mumbai like Kandivali, Borivali, Malad and Santacruz.
The photos come from the spot of the incident shows that, a group perched on the rock waiting for rescue. While some people were stranded on a rock nearby. Some of the people taking shelter under the tree to hide from the heavy rain.
Forces involved in the rescue
Along with the navy, some other forces are also included in the rescue of the tourist struck in the waterfall. These forces affect the national disaster response force, the fire brigade and local police.
The waterfall is situated over 70 km from Mumbai. Tourist love to visit the Chinchoti waterfall, especially during summers and monsoon season.

The area is witnessing continuous rainfall since morning which led to these people getting stranded, and it is also hampering rescue operation.
5 battalion team of NDRF reaches to the spot of the incident, as in Andheri; traffic police provides a green corridor to the rescue forces to get to the operation site quickly.
