National Park In Thailand Mails Rubbish Back To Tourists And Visitors That Got Caught Littering

A national park in Thailand is just sick and tired of tourists or visitors that are littering there constantly, so they decided to do something that is just amazing.

The Khao Yai National Park in Bangkok, Thailand, decided to track down tourists or visitors that are caught littering so that they could mail back the rubbish that they left.

Tourists are known to leave behind empty bottles, cans, food packaging, and other waste in areas that are not designated for trash.

Varawut Silpa-Archa, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, made a number of posts on Facebook to say that rubbish that is left behind will be packed up and posted back to people that are visiting the park.

The offenders will also be registered with the police.

In order to make it easier for the authorities to track down the offenders and ship them back the rubbish that they have left behind, visitors at the Khao Yai National Park will be listing down their address that is present on their ID.

Silpa-Archa also shared images of rubbish collected in boxes and ready to be shipped.

He wrote in the post:

Your trash – we’ll send it back to you.

The post was a reminder to people that littering is an offense that is punishable by law in the country. Convicted people can spend up to 5 years in prison or pay fines or even both.

In the images that he shared, plastic bottles, cans, and packets of chips along with a note that reads “You forgot these things at Khao Yai National Park” were seen.

The Khao Yai National Park was made in 1962. It is the first national park of Thailand it covers an area of 2,000 square kilometers.
