On Monday, on the death sentence of three of the four convicts in the 2012 Delhi gangrape case, it has upheld the judgment by the Supreme Court.
Today, it has been disregarded the convicts’ petitions by a bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justices R Banumathi and Ashok Bhushan.
The verdict on 2016, Nirbhaya gang rape case has been delivered by the Justice Dipak Misra who is headed the bench. this plea has filed by Mukesh who is 29 years old, Pawan Gupta, 22 years old and 23 years old Vinay Sharma . after delivering the verdict, Dipak Misra said that judgment is absolutely correct and the convicts had failed to point out an error in the judgment.
after that, it is further added by the court that it had heard detailed at the time of appeals by the convicts but there were no grounds to reconsider the verdict.
Advocate A P Singh, representing The fourth convict, Akshay Kumar Singh has told that ”it had not been filed a review petition by Akshay Kumar Singh against the court yet. We will be filing it.”
on the 16 December 2012 in Delhi, Nirbhaya gangrape case and murder of a 23-year-old paramedic student last year, the top court had upheld the death sentence awarded to the four convicts by the Delhi High Court and the trial court meanwhile, in Tihar jail one of the accused, Ram Singh has allegedly committed suicide whether the another teenage accused was convicted by the juvenile justice board and after three years it had been released from a reformation home.

Judgment result of public pressure: Defence lawyer
The counsels for the accused, however, said public pressure had influenced the case. “This judgment is a result of public pressure. Therefore, it is not fair or right. The political or public pressure of any kind should not influence a case,” convict Akshay’s lawyer A P Singh had said.

Overwhelmed by the verdict: Victim’s father
While making their way out of the court premises after the verdict last year, the victim’s parents had said, “The court has meted out justice not only to us but to the entire nation which came out in support of our daughter. We are overwhelmed,” her father said. He added, “We were nervous about the verdict, but it has turned out well. Back in 2012, so many people took to the streets and braved water cannons, tear gas and lathis despite it being winter. The judgment has taken forward the fight against crimes that took my daughter’s life.”

‘Protests against the incident, nation’s support helped the victim get justice’
On the verdict against the convicts, the victim’s parents last year said that it was the protests against the gangrape and murder of their daughter and the nation’s overwhelming support that had helped her get justice. “The nation’s collective conscience has been taken into account… it is an important parameter in the case,” senior counsel Siddharth Luthra, representing the prosecution, said.

What all happened during the hearing last year?
During the hearing last year, the bench had told advocate M L Sharma, appearing for Mukesh, that he has to make out a case for review of the analysis arrived at by the court in its May 5 verdict. When the council raised the issue of alleged “illegal evidence” against the convict, the bench said, “You had argued all these points and we had rejected it”. “How were the marks of your (Mukesh) teeth found on the leg of the victim,” the bench asked. To this, Sharma alleged that Mukesh was framed by the police and tortured.

Delhi Police oppose Mukesh’s review petition
Last year, the Delhi Police had opposed the plea filed by Mukesh in the top court. The police told the bench, headed by the CJI, that submissions advanced by the counsel appearing for convict Mukesh do not make out a case for review of the apex court’s judgment.

What happened on December 16, 2012?
On the intervening night of December 16-17, 2012, a 23-year-old paramedic student was gang-raped inside a moving bus in South Delhi by six persons and severely assaulted before being thrown out naked. The victim succumbed to her injuries on December 29, 2012, at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore. The incident had triggered a massive anger among the people, forcing the government to adopt several laws to ensure the safety of women.

Convict Mukesh falsely implicated: Lawyer
