We are all focused on the Amazon Tropical Rainforest Fire in Brazil, but one thing you didn’t know is that the Amazon of Bolivia is also on fire, and over 1.8 million acres of tropical forests have been burned.
According to BIA (Bolivian Information Agency), over 1.8 million acres of tropical rainforest have been burned.
This has caused President Evo Morales to suspend his re-election campaign.
According to the National Institute Of Space Research, Brazil saw over 13,390 fires in August alone.
President Evo Morales said that nearly 4,000 volunteers and state employees are battling with the fire in Amazon.
In a tweet that President Morales made, he said, “Nothing is more precious that our Mother Earth; she can survive without us but we cannot survive without her.”
He added, “The damages from the fire in la Chiquitania (region) put at risk the most valuable (thing) we have in our lives: our environment. We are a strong and dignified county, fighting together we have surpassed many challenges throughout our history. United we will overcome this challenge.”
The Amazon Tropical Rainforest is so big that it reaches 8 countries, and Bolivia is one of them, but the majority of the Amazon forest is in Brazil.

The Amazon forest produced 20 percent of the world’s oxygen, is home to 30 percent of animals and is known to play a huge role in our current fight with climate change.
Earlier this week, President Moral said that Bolivia has hired a Boeing 747 Supertanker, one of the largest airplanes on our planet, and a fleet of smaller planes.
The planes will be fighting the fire.
President Morales said that nearly 70 percent of fires have decreased in Bolivia, but due to the high winds, the fire has reignited.
President Morales said that Bolivia is willing to accept international help to combat the fire.
