On Tuesday, POTUS Donald Trump claimed that the noise generated from wind turbines causes cancer. He said this during a campaign-style speech during the National Republican Congressional Committee’s spring dinner.

While President Trump attacked Hillary Clinton, his former rival Presidential candidate, he said, “If you have a windmill anywhere near your house, congratulations—your house just went down 75 percent in value, and they say the noise causes cancer. You tell me that one, okay?”

Donald Trump did not provide any evidence to his claims and many raised questions about how he came up with the claim and where the notion came from.

As of now, there is no evidence that proves wind turbines causes cancer. But, negative health impacts of wind turbines have circulated among conspiracy theorists.

The remarks that were made by President Trump on Tuesday drew mockery and criticism across the media, this is the first time he has claimed that the noise produced by wind turbines can cause cancer.

President Trump has also tried to rally support against windmills and in 2014 he claimed that they are the ‘the greatest threat in the US to both bald and golden eagles’.
