Intel Announces Winners Of Prestigious ISEF In US; Six Indian Students Bags Awards

Intel International Science and Engineers Fair a prestigious science fair took place in Arizona on 24th May 2016. There are different categories that students compete with each other and won top prizes at Local, regional, state or national science Fair.

In the fields of biotechnology, medicine, biomedical engineering, and mathematics 16 students from India won three grand awards and the special awards worth $9,500.

“Google Thinking Big Award” is won by Shreyas Kapur from New Delhi who is 17 years old. She is studying in Modern School at Barakhamba Road, New Delhi. She was awarded USD 1,000 for his work on ‘Cellphone-based optometry using hybrid images’. This project also made him take National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and Biometrical Engineering award.

Divya Kranthi and Suhani Sachin Jain of Centre point school from Nagpur won third award “Innovative Strategy uses Endophytes for Effective Biocontrol of Insect Pests in Cotton” in plant science and it’s developing.

The fourth award was taken by Vasudev Malayan of Maharaja Agarsain Public School, Delhi in translation medical science for the development of “Novel Paper Sensor as a Diagnostic Test for Multiple Sclerosis”.

There 16 Indian students as finalists of initiative step for Research and Innovation in Science (IRIS) 2016 which featured more than 1,700 young scientists about 419 affiliate fairs in 77 countries.

The Intel Foundation specially awarded $1,000 grant to each winner`s school and to affiliated fair they represented.
