He is considered as next big thing in India Cricket. He scored century on Duleep Trophy debut and broke the record of Sachin Tendulkar for the youngest to score a century in Duleep Trophy. He led India U-19 to glory. Yes we are talking about Prithvi Shaw. He made his IPL debut against Kings XI Punjab and scored 22 off 10 balls in which Delhi Daredevils lost.
He may have had loads of runs in the Ranji season, he may have led India to glory in the Under-19, but on the big night, in a must-win of sorts for Daredevils, Shaw stepped up. And in sheer style. In a 44-ball knock of 62, which included seven fours and two sixes, he set up the platform beautifully for the carnage that was to follow.
Delhi scored 219/4 batting first thanks to Delhi’s new skipper Shreyas Iyer as played a blistering knock of 93* of just 40 balls. Chasing 220 KKR could only manage 164 and were handed a heavy defeat.
During the course of his innings, Prithvi Shaw certainly made MS Dhoni proud as produced a moment of brilliance against Mitchell Johnson. In the ninth over of the Delhi innings, Shaw copied Dhoni’s trademark helicopter shot to perfection to hit a massive six on the on-side.

This win against Kolkata knight Riders will give DD a huge boost as they finally won a game after a losing streak. New skipper of Delhi Daredevils led by example as he scored 93*. Prithvi Shaw completed his maiden fifty in 38 balls and became the youngest half centurion in the history of the IPL. Shaw completed this feat at 18 years and 169 days, the same as Samson who made this milestone his in 2013 against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
