A taxi driver from Rajasthan was arrested on Saturday for raping a 12-year-old girl who sells vegetables in Dungarpur district of Rajasthan.

The family of the 12-year-old girl has lodged a complaint against the said taxi driver.

Chandmal SIngaria, a circle officer of the Dungarpur police, said, “Seven-eight teams have been formed to deal with the case. The girl is under medical supervision.”

The police said that the girl was waiting for a taxi so she could return back to her home after selling vegetables in the city.

The police added that when the girl hopped in the taxi driver, instead of dropping her to the destination that she asked for, the driver brought her to a secluded place, which is 10 kilometers away from the Dungarpur police, and then raped her.

The taxi driver then brought her back to the city and dropped her near a bus stand.

Upon returning home, the girl explained what the driver did to her, she was then rushed to a government-run hospital in the city.
